This entire unit is a totally enclosed, packaged, and assembled that is shipped as one piece, requiring only the water, gas, and power to be connected to the appropriate locations.
New Yokogawa UP550 digital programmable temperature controller with 30 programs and 300 segments (with three-year warranty). This unit provides .1o resolution and is capable of controlling this furnace typically within 1-2 degrees. It can read out in either degrees F or degrees C. This controller has auto-tuning that makes tuning to a particular process quick and easy. It has an alphanumeric display that indicates the process profile, as well as when events in the program are turned on and off. An optional feature to work with the UP550 is the Yokogawa Light Loader. It clips on the face of the UP550 and allows an interface to a computer to upload and download programs and modify the configuration of the controller.
New AutomationDirect Direct Logic 06 PLC programmer-controller for fully automatic operation with alphanumeric display to indicate furnace processing cycles. This furnace can be run with just the five push-buttons on the front of the alphanumeric display. Comes with auto-manual station.
The AutomationDirect PLC comes with an auto-manual station that is key-accessed so it can only be used by authorized personnel. The switches on the auto-manual station allow valves to be turned on and off; allow the diffusion pump heat to be turned on and off; and, provide a means to operate the furnace manually for either special testing or diagnostics.

Stainless steel base plate underneath the bell has multiple ports available that would allow access into the hot zone of the furnace by replacing the existing mechanical plug with the appropriate feedthrough. (Thermocouples or gas tubes could be added to the furnace easily.)
Leybold D30 mechanical vacuum pump. This pump has been remanufactured and has a new charge of mechanical pump oil installed in it. The mechanical pump is mounted on vibration isolators and attached to the furnace frame.
Leybold-Heraeus 4 diffusion pump. This pump has been remanufactured and has a new charge of diffusion pump oil installed in it.

All new self-contained feed and drain water manifolds are mounted on the furnace frame and accessible from the rear of the furnace. The furnace is completely water-plumbed with all-new hoses and fittings.
Varian Model 843 vacuum gauge. This gauge has two thermocouple inputs one to monitor chamber pressure and one to monitor foreline pressure. It also has an ionization gauge to monitor high vacuum in the chamber. The thermocouple gauge tubes and ionization gauge tubes are new.
Thermocouple This unit comes with a new inconel-sheathed dual Type K high temperature thermocouple probe to sense temperature in the furnace. Other probes are available for an additional charge.
Backfill gas This furnace is equipped with metal lines that have been helium leak tested to 10-9 scale to minimize any potential contamination that may come from contaminated backfill gases.
The roughing valve and foreline valve are pneumatically operated and connected with KF-25 connections. They have been tested and are helium leak tight.
Aluminum high vacuum gate valve. This valve is pneumatically operated, has been rebuilt and tested, and is helium leak tight.
There is a small mechanical vacuum gauge on the front of the furnace to give a rough indication of the vacuum levels in the chamber. Because this gauge is mechanical, it will give a vacuum indication even when the furnace is turned off.
New Love digital high limit safety controller. This controller continuously monitors the temperature in the furnace and will automatically turn the furnace off if an overtemperature condition exists inside the furnace. It is settable to the nearest one degree over the entire operating range of the furnace. This controller works in conjunction with a new mechanical high limit safety contactor.
Wiring All internal wires, fuses, motor starters, relays, and power supplies in this furnace are new.
New Avitar phase angle fired SCR pack. This device precisely modulates the power required to keep the furnace at temperature. Comes with manufacturers one-year warranty.
We provide written operating procedures, complete detailed electrical schematics, and manuals for all instrumentation and controls on the furnace.
This unit is leak-tested with a helium mass spectrometer, with no detectable leak in the 10-9 range. There is a built-in KF-25 leak test port that is capped that can be used to easily attach the furnace to a helium mass spectrometer leak detector.
